HAWA

Holistic Afghan Women Association

Holistic Afghan Women Association is a community-based organization dedicated to supporting Afghan women, youth and families as they rebuild their lives with stability and dignity. Rooted in cultural understanding and trust, we provide holistic, linguistically accessible services that meet the unique needs of refugee and immigrant communities. We understand that resettlement is more than just access to services, as it is about feeling seen, supported and empowered. HAWA serves as a trusted space where families can find guidance, connection, and the tools they need to thrive.

HAWA is established as part of a vibrant network of organizations working collectively to meet the needs and priorities of refugees and other newcomers.

Our Approach

Our Mission

Our mission is to serve and uplift members of the Afghan community who are living in San Diego County.

We advance our mission by providing holistic and linguistically accessible services, coordinating activities and events that educate and support families and by celebrating and honoring Afghan culture and values.

Our Vision

We want to build a world where Afghan families, children, youth and individuals are thriving and have a sense of purpose and hope.

We want to see a world where Afghan families are part of a strong community with social connections and resources that allow for success and personal well being.

The digital literacy class is a very informative class, we learned so much that even my children were surprised with the things I have learned. Our teacher treats us with respect and kindness.
